Just like the song, these are a few of my favourite everyday items.
When I'm on the go from here and there, you can often find me with my glasses on, hair up wearing comfortable clothes. Sometimes I tailor it down if I'm getting ready to go on an adventure and there are times where I dress up to feel cute and cozy. Because why not?
Here are some goodies that can usually be found on my person or my go-to pack aways for a trip. I love to do product photography and photo styling, so on a particular autumn trip, I decided to put them all together!
Each item brings a special bit of joy to my life. Accessorizing is fun!
ITEMS
COZY SWEATER
There's something to be said about a big bulky sweater in autumn. Perhaps because they most often feel like stylized blankets. What women wouldn't want to get away with wearing a cute blanket on her body all day? Not to be confused with the power of a good poncho.
JEWLERY
Accessorizing is fun big or small. Even the tiniest of details matter! How beautiful are these earrings by Frost & Fir Accessories, my sister-in-law! I usually travel with two sets of earrings. A smaller pair for everyday wear such as a stud or a hoop and something longer, more fun, to feel fancy and to 'zuhsz' things up a bit.
PURSE
I was first introduced to Matt & Nat many years ago when I worked at Prairie Supply Co in Dauphin. Their sustainable approach to handbags combines with beautiful aesthetic and a commitment to vegan leather... I was sold. So much so that I bought my first purse, which has now grown into quite the collection. To be honest, I was certainly not in need of a new purse by any means, but as the tale goes... "I didn't have any like this one". It was true! I had longed for a cognac coloured bag, that screamed sophisticated but cute. This was it.
HAIR CLIP For the moments where I mean business or am looking for a quick and cute hair do option, pulling your hair back into a hair clip does the job. Pop on some cute earrings and you're ready to go.
BLUE JEANS
Do I feel like I'm living my very own special type of moment as if I'm in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie, whenever I wear blue jeans? The answer is yes! What woman doesn't want to feel cute and powerful in a set of versatile, classic hip huggers that can be dressed up or down every which way. They are the swiss-army knife of clothing. They've been around forever for a reason.
BOOK MARK
Something I made and designed for myself a few years ago that I have thought of bringing back... bookmarks! They're cute and fun with a little reminder to set the task at hand, to READ! I populated a little Etsy print shop awhile back and although I was unsuccessful in sales, I still have such a heart for print. I love the analog landscape that it provides and the endless creativity. I have a good feeling it will be brought back full circle, in due time. Stay tuned!
HAIR SCRUNCHIE
When the job has to get done, it has to get done. Whether I'm flying out the door to go get groceries or meet up with a friend, sometimes my curly hair shows no remorse and into the hair scrunchie it goes. It's definitely the millennial in me and being a 90s baby, there will always be one of these bad boys laying around the house. Not a hair tie, a hair scrunchie. There's a difference!
Whenever we travel somewhere, we most always bring along our favourite things, for good reason! Next time you're packing your bags, find yourself paying closer attention to the items you choose to have accompany you on the journey. Maybe it's your favourite water bottle or pair of shoes. Pay attention to the littlest details that bring you joy.
